What is the point of beginning something, and not finishing it? What is the point of starting something, and not attempting to master it? In the current generation we live in, with the advent of technology looming ever so more as the days advance, I feel we have a lack as a society, as a world. That lack can be bridged, but it must be done with concerted effort. The lack is in perfection, in mastery, in becoming the best. We have become lazy, we have devolved as a whole. I want to do a small part of helping us go back to being hard-working, proud, and diligent people. I read a quote recently, essentially it said “set your goals so high that you fail better than others succeed”. I don’t remember who said it, but I won’t forget it.

My name is Sean, I am on a journey to become the best guitar player I know, and I want you to join me. On this page I will tell you the purpose of this website, and a little bit about myself as well.

Purpose

The purpose of this website is to provide you with QUALITY and valuable information about guitar accessories, guitar gear, and guitars in general. At the moment this is written we are focusing centrally on guitar amplifiers, but as we cover the topic of amps we will move on to other subjects. We have a blog archive at the top right of the page where you can view all of out latest content.

A Little About Me

Born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, I first picked up a guitar when I was about 8 years old. My uncle gave me his old one. I don’t remember what brand or make it was, but I do remember that it had stickers on each fret that told me where each note was. That may not be the most practical way to learn the fret board, but I have since put stickers on my practice guitar because of the impact that guitar had on me.

I played diligently for two weeks, and then I did not pick it back up. I remember learning a C chord, every other open chord, and the song that has the lyrics, “before you can call him a man” (too lazy to look it up if I’m being honest). It sat in my closet for about 5 years, something happened to the strings, and then something happened to the guitar itself.

A Rough Patch

When I was very young, I was introduced to weed, and then when I was about 13 I drank for the first time and I loved it. By the time I was 17 I was a full-blown alcoholic.

I somehow managed to do good in school and was accepted into San Diego State University, and flunked out after the first year. I was drinking a lot, little to zero studies involved.

I moved back to Minneapolis, and a few years later I met who I thought would be my future wife. I ended up going to treatment for alcohol because I knew I had to stop in order to be the man I wanted to be. I quit drinking for about 45 days or so and went right back to it.

Eventually, she broke up with me and I was freed to drink as much as I wanted, and I did. At the end before I went back to treatment and got sober once and for all I was drinking over a liter of cheap vodka a day.

After I got out of treatment, I did a COMPLETE 180 in every area of my life. I found Yahusha HaMashiach (better known as Jesus Christ), and gave my life to Him.

Then… After 6 years of sobriety, I finally did what I’ve wanted to do for essentially my whole life… I bought a guitar

The First Guitar

I played a lot. And then broke it. Let us continue.

The Second Guitar

This is when it started getting real. For the last 3 years I have played on average about an hour of guitar per day. I am on a mission to become the best guitar player I know.

I ended up buying a VERY nice Taylor 214ce for about $1100, and let me tell you it was completely worth every penny. I also bought an electric guitar, along with a cheap amp.

What I Want For You

Enough about me, what I want for you is to accomplish YOUR goals in your guitar journey, whatever they may be. But, I highly encourage you to set goals.

Click around on the site, and spend extra time in the blog archives (where 98% of the content lies). My goal is to provide the best content I can, to provide you with value, with encouragement, and with quality products that you can use for the rest of your life if need be.
